Last year, I bought 4 coats.
4. Winter. Coats. ON MY TEACHING SALARY.
Then I figured out the secret to getting my coat fix without causing the banking app on my phone to turn red and send me warning notifications for two months straight.
Outerwear is a bit of a pricey investment, you know? But I really love a good winter coat, and I hate being cold, so that’s even further incentive.
Here’s the secret: you gotta shop right now. Yes, now. In February.
This fuzzy friend (linked below!) from Gap for a fraction of the price ($70, if I’m remembering correctly). And since it was originally about $250, I’m pretty proud of myself.
Outerwear prices get slashed this time of year because we’re all planning our spring outfits and (at least in Oklahoma!) seeing significantly warmer temps already.
This guy will get wrapped in plastic and put away for the year really soon, and be like new when I pull it out next season. And I will have saved more than 50% off the original price, and not be shopping for a coat when I’m already pressed for cash with the approaching holiday season.
I know it’s seems a bit counter-intuitive, but if I were you, I would peruse your favorite shops online today and see what kind of deals you can get.
I bet you this will be my last chilly-looking post for awhile since my hometown starts flirting with spring as early as Valentine’s Day, but this late season snowy day was perfect for some photos, and a great excuse to rock this hood. IT’S BIGGER THAN MY FACE, Y’ALL!
I hope you have a lovely Saturday, whatever your weather is.
